ABOUT THIS EPISODE

In this special episode, Simon Hill hosts a debate on seed oils and heart disease risk between Tucker Goodrich and Dr Matthew Nagra.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death in many Western countries, and there are some conflicting views when it comes to causes of CVD. It’s important to consciously step outside of the echo chamber modern life puts us in, and I hope this is the first of many science-based debates on The Proof.

The proposition for this debate is “It is more reasonable to believe that seed oils are beneficial rather than harmful for coronary heart disease risk”. Tucker Goodrich takes the position of disagree, and Dr Matthew Nagra takes the position of agree.

Tucker Goodrich has an incredibly successful background in technology and finance. Having faced medical issues that were not helped by the healthcare system, he took his health into his own hands and grew a passion for nutrition science in the process. He now independently researches health issues and raises awareness of these issues.

Dr Matthew Nagra is a Naturopathic Doctor who focuses on bringing the most up-to-date, evidence-based nutrition information to his patients. He is certified in plant-based nutrition and graduated from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in 2018, having previously completed his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of Victoria.

Matt and Tucker cover a variety of topics and studies, and you’re guaranteed to learn something from the suite of evidence presented and analysed.
